This Presidential election has stunned everyone.
On the Republican side, probably not even Trump foresaw how his tapping into long simmering anger in millions of non-elite, white males, against the party establishment, would erupt so powerfully and propel Trump to his dizzying height.
The Democratic side has manifested a comparable phenomenon with Bernie Sanders.
The qualities of Trump that have led millions of outsider Republicans to love him have also led millions of other people to detest him.
Trump's detest rate is a major contributor to polls currently showing Trump as losing in a general election.
If you were advising Trump, what would you recommend for him if he is the Republican nominee and Hillary Clinton is the Democratic nominee?
Maybe the chameleon Trump will surprise everyone with an astounding make over of himself that saves him from the negatives that swarm in his persona (and that many are absolutely certain will lead to a crushing defeat for Trump in a general election).
Being a lesser mortal who cannot know the limits of Trump's capacity to redo his persona, I think about the millions on the Democratic side who are zealously pursing a revolution in Bernie Sanders and whose antipathy to Hillary Clinton grows daily as Sanders keeps on marching onward and they keep on giving to him.
If Bernie Sanders falls short, maybe his ardent supporters will come into the Democratic fold.
But who knows.
Trump took a long shot at his start. He had no problem telling Republicans about the rot and incompetence in Washington that has abysmally failed millions of non-elite, white males.
Given what Trump has done this far, it seems a plausible and inviting scenario for him to double down and turn his full guns on Hillary Clinton and her corrupt Democratic establishment, unflinchingly blasting it out to Sanders supporters how they (Clinton and her corrupt Democratic establishment) have abysmally failed the Sanders outsiders seeking their revolution.. Overthrow it all, Trump can trumpet, overthrow the Republican establishment that I Trump started out against and overthrow you Sanders' supporters Democratic establishment. Let's make a revolution together and get our government making American great again for all the alienated and disaffected grassroots.
It is not hard to project Trump doubling down in the foregoing way. It is hard to project what would come of such a doubling down.
After what has happened thus far, few would feel confident of predicting about the latter.
The country basically awaits it knows not what.
Trump relishes such situations. If he wants to go for it, that's what I think he should do.
That would be my two cents.
