Find your Congressional candidates

First you need to know the Congressional district you live in. Congressional districts are identified by the name of your state and the number of a Congressional district in the state (e.g., I live in the Alabama 6th Congressional district).

If you don't know the Congressional district you live in, you can find out by typing in your zip code and/or your address in this Find a Senator or Representative search tool.

To find the candidates running for Congress in your district, you can use Ballotpedia. I have not found an easy master directory in Ballotpedia that lists all the states and their Congressional districts for clicking on to find the candidates in a particular Congressional district. If you do an Internet search for Ballotpedia [state name] [ ___ Congressional district], e.g. Ballotpedia Alabama 6th Congressional district, you will get a link to the Ballotpedia page for the district that you can click on and you will be taken to the Ballotpedia page for the Congressional district.

The Ballotpedia page you are taken to will show the declared Congressional candidates for the 2016 election for that district.

The URL for the Alabama 6th Congressional district is http://ballotpedia.org/Alabama's_6th_Congressional_District, and you might be able to use that format to go directly to the page for your Congressional district by substituting your state name and Congressional district number.

As the nationweide citizen effort proceeds to get Congressional candidates to make the Declaration, this blog will have separate entries/pages for Congressional districts and links to the Ballotpedia pages for the the Congressional district will be provided in this blog.
